N.Y. star up for rare honor

I'm a Yankee hater. But if any ball player deserves something named after him it is Derek Jeter. He is a consummate, pro's pro. He plays the game the way it should be. I was a fan of his in 2001(?) when during the playoffs (ALCS I think), when he dove in the stands after a foul ball, came out bloodied and bruised. Continued playing and didn't whine about it. He doesn't say much, and doesn't draw attention to himself. So Name that bridge after him.

He is the personification of the word class. Yes, name the bridge after him, but do expect him to be embarrassed.

He's a class act and a great role model for kids.You can't say that about too many people of his status these days.I'm not a huge sports fan but athletes like him don't come around every day.He's managed to keep his nose clean and stay focused on his career and the other important things about life from day 1.His parents did a great job with raising him and keeping him grounded.The Yankees should do everything that they can to make sure that he retires as a Yankee.Seeing him play for another team would be like putting ketchup on a hot dog.
