Boise BCS blocked

Nice article. I have nothing but respect for what the Broncos have got going out there BUT also think that some of what other teams say is true. Boise State does not play the same schedule as a Big IIX or SEC team, and simply putting them on the schedule will NOT change that fact. What makes these schedules so tough is that they are grueling and long. It isn't the quality of one of the conference opponents that does it...it is the fact that all of them are pretty capable of beating each other. The game means something completely different to Boise State than it does to USC/Tenn/Notre Dame/Penn St/Ohio St, or whoever the opponent is.

I am a Nebraska fan, and I would love to see the Huskers play them. I am really happy to see the Hokies willingness to play them too. But face it, Va Tech needs that win as bad as Boise St does.........Nebraska doesn't.

Boise state hasnt play anybody except 1 game ( Oregon ). Thats ridiculous for saying that they deserve a bowl game. Boise play in one of the weakest division. I want to see them play against Texas , Ohio State , Notre Dame , USC , Florida.

Let's mount a campaign to get a game that will settle the issue.

nebraska isn't any good. They are going to get slaughtered in Lincoln today. The bookies have OU by 5 or 6! Lord catch a red eye to Vegas and put your grandma's 401k on the Sooners.....as for Harvey Perlman? He needs to transfer to Hollywood State University of West Los Angeles. He would schedule a few reality t.v. shows before a legitimate Boise State that would probably whack NU good....have a nice saturday Cornhuskers............big John Hamper....

Shut up and play Boise State. Put your money where your mouth is. Just like VT is doing. They not only are risking a national title by playing Boise State, they are paying them 1.28 million to come to DC.

I think it is absurd to think that Boise State could not compete in any of the big conferences.Look at all the players who come from the MAC who make it big in the NFL , SEC, Big 10,Big 12 , SEC , it does not matter they are all afraid to let Boise State in in fear they would get owned and I am a Michigan fan they have true talent and a heck of a coaching staff.

Well, If its anyway they played Friday night agains LA Tech.. They don't deserve a Bowl Game. Boise should have walked all over Tech. They were 20 points ahead before Tech started coming on. Tech came within 2 points of passing Boise... Now how can you even say Boise deserves a bowl game after that Oh yeah, They beat Oregon in the first game of the season (WOW)

I am not surprised at all no big team will play Boise, especially in SEC, specifically Florida. Those teams and several of the top ranked teams schedule as many unranked canon fodder as they possibly can. Florida played one ranked team, LSU and had trouble barely winning. The rest of its games were against a chorus of WHO? Many of the top schools follow the same chicken schedule to make them look good in the win column. I'd love to see top 10 play other top ten, good games and top team would be sorted out....honestly not the BCS crap

Name the teams who turned you down and who you spoke to there by name, or shut up and go whine elsewhere. Let the other teams make their case as to why they won't play you. Like perhaps they have out of conference games already scheduled with high profile opponents. (Except Florida maybe...lol). Put your cards on the table.

Last year, Utah walloped Alabama in the Sugar Bowl - yet I'm sure all the bone head analysts would say that Utah does not deserve to play in the title game if they had been undefeated this year.
Only in college football is the champion determined by a popularity contest.

The team in Boise is on a hot streak, has been for a few years over less than great competition. The occasional win over a major conference team is no different than any lucky win by a team not as good as the one they just beat as every one has a hot game or a good game on any particular day. When Boise grows up, and joins a real conference that plays major competition as a rule and not the exception, then they will be respected, not until. So let them wine, let ESPN wine, and any of their fans wine , it just wont do them any good. Every major team plays a scrub or two, Boise State plays mostly scrubs, they are a bit better than their competition, but still are not elite, have no real history and quite frankly, have a small stadium and an ugly Blue field.

This was a great article for me because it actually changed my mind. I thought it was Boise State who was only scheduling one major power a year and looking for the big money. Instead, I had no idea that major college powers were afraid of playing Boise State.

This column seems to argue the obvious--that college football is about winning more than competing, money over equality, and retaining a power status rather than having a collegial spirit. I think college presidents, athletic directors and coaches have changed who they were and what they used to represent.

Boise State is a joke. They struggled at LA Tech. Nebraska would waste them and if you don't agree I know Nebraska would love to play them in Lincoln because it would be the easiest game on the schedule.

Last year Utah kicks the CRAP out of Bama. In 2007 Boise State beats Oklahoma. This year, USC loses to WASHINGTON!!!!!! So far this year, Florida played Charleston Southern (WTF is THAT???) and Troy. Alabama played Florida Int'l and North Texas and still has a game against that big powerhouse Tenn-Chattanooga. Texas played Louisiana-Monroe and Ohio State played New Mexico St. who is in the WAC. So WHY NOT play Boise State??? You can't tell me that when Florida scheduled Charleston Southern, they actually thought it might be a close game. So instead of just yipping about it, schedule Boise St., beat them and then case closed. Just what are the big dogs afraid of??? Obviously they are afraid of something!!!!

Ok ok Boise State is real good. Last night I watched them play LA Tech and for a few moments of that game they made LA Tech look like world beaters. You make those mistakes against another top 10 team and it is all over. Hey I know that they beat Oklahoma once. I know they hustle and I wish they could play in a BCS title game to prove it. I just do not think this year is the year.

I am a huge ohio state fan but i have boise as of late just because they are a good team but i think boise should take on flordia and see who runs the yard. because flordia and tebow think they are the big dogs while i think if they play boise they will shut flordia up once and for all. because flordia is so over rated unlike boise who should be playing for the b.c.s. title this year so i say this put flordia vs boise one on one in the title game and we will see who runs the yard in college football once and for all. In my eyes flodia will get shut down fianl score Boise 44, Flordia 30.

Maybe BSU should play WSU for a spot in the PAC-10. If WSU loses, it moves to the WAC, where it might actually compete, and BSU could play the Ducks and Trojans every year. Sorry Coug Fans...

Did 911 Conspiracy even read this article? Mornon... This article was not about BSU deserving a National Chapionship or BCS game, but the fact that they never really get the chance to make a case for it because no one will play them. They do play in one of the weakest divisions and they are doing what they can to schedule the best games possible.. I would also like to see them play USC, which whom Oregon handly beat, which whom we (BSU) handly beat... should be a blowout!

Every one is scared to play Boise in fear that they will rip them apart in their own home. I'm from Fresno St. but come on people. Give Boise a game, I say put the schools who declined on blast and let the nation know who is scared to play.

Boise St LOL....they beat La Tech by 10. Florida would eat them alive and as much as I hate to say it..so would Bama (Auburn Fan). The other confrences just need to appreciate the fact that every now and then they can even go to a National Championship. SEC dominates college fooyball.

Good for Boise State...better yet, instead of getting tough out of conference opponents, get into a better conference. The Pac 10 would be nice...then also get enough teams to warrant a conference championship. The SEC, and Big 10, ACC have these conference championships that gives them the edge at the end of the season. Good job, Broncos.

HEY TEXAS TECH as a loyal fan I THINK we should put BOISE in their place!! We are in the BCS lets take em out!! They talk to much trash as it is!! and if they are good then a win will prove it!!

What incentive is a nationally televised against Boise St. for any major conference contender? Aren't all of Boise's games nationally televised anyway on ESPN? It seems like they are on ESPN every Thursday or Friday night playing some D-II team that can't play defense. The only teams that might consider playing Boise are PAC 10 teams because they only have 2-3 legitimate contenders. The Big 12 has 4, the SEC has 4-5, and the Big 10 has 3-4. I know its a tough pill to swallow for Boise St. fans, but no one will ever give you respect and no one of significance will ever risk playing you. Boise St. just doesn't matter to everyone else....you're not relevant. Don't even say Virginia Tech....they are the most overrated team in college football EVERY YEAR. They would be a .500 team at best in the SEC or Big 12.
