We consist of businessmen, C.E.O.'s, Wallstreet executives, Senior citizens who yearn for the days of segregation, and primarily Whites. We demand only the cream of American society unless you can be propped up for propaganda purposes like Michael Steele. Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are our voices, and we joyfully repeat their mantras. Most of us care very little for colored people and the poor unless you provide cheap labor or are serving in the military. Obama is to blame for everything- The Iraq war, 9-11, our current economic crisis, and the greatest violation of our civil rights- The Patriot Act. We hate socialism but we love social security. We hate to kill fetuses but we love to kill muslims.

Cantor just signed his own resignation. When I read the article, I thought I would find the usual suspects calling for his head, and I was right.
The effort by these far right Republicans to purify their party to eliminate any moderate strain might be successful. And then they will truly be a marginalized party.
I know many of them will be surprised, but although I am center left, I think a healthy conservative party is important to the country. And I fear they are taking themselves out of the game with their own arrogance. The independents who help vote Republican governors into office this week won't stand for the far right, even if they are not sure of the left.

Cantor is a great example of a good man that's been in DC too long. People keep saying these idiotic things about being inclusive long enough and you start believeing them yourself.
Conservatives are quickly turning the Republicans into an inclusive party instead of a shrinking party by actually standing for some principles. Republicans will gladly accept people that adhere to the principles of small government, lower taxes and individual liberty. Believe me that will attract not only the base but a vast majority of the people calling themselves liberals.

Inclusion is part of being an American. What the ultra-right is doing is exclusionary, in a veiled attempt to attain oligarchy. Simply, the haves vs. the have not. The haves are about power, control, and dominion. The word conservative is synonymous with Nazism, communism, totalitarianism, fascism, etc.

The Supreme Court needs to stay out of the states business. No matter which state, the Supreme Court should let them make their own laws and sentence people by those laws without interference from the federal government. Interference with the states laws was not the reason for the inception of the Supreme Court. They have no right getting involved in state business. As for giving a teen life, it is probably because they deserve death for what they did and the state is letting them off easy by giving them life.
There will be business as usual in the Republican Party and on this site. No one is standing against these followers of Talk Hate, Rush Limbaugh, or him. That was a small step, in stating his comments are out of bounds, about Hitler. Limbaugh has very little depth or insight on subjects. Those that follow him are even less thoughtful.

The Republican party is going to rip itself apart. All of this talk about the party imploding is starting to be seen. I think it should split into two parties, one the moderate republican (normal fiscal conservatives like Reagan and McCain) and the crazy hate mongers (that never seem to do what Jesus would do). I'm not voting for either but I will enjoy watching it go down. Then the Democratic party gets even stronger and we can't lose. 8 million more people voted for Obama than McCain in 2009. If the republican party can't unite than Obama will win in an even bigger landslide 2012. I can't wait! Go Obama!

Non-partisan efforts must become the norm. That would best serve this nation. Funny how the GOP-defectors plans to bring change differ little from the existing parties. They want to dominate the legislative and executive branches. However, that is typical partisan BS and just as bad for the US. We need a stronger focus on non-partisanship in congress. That needs to be a priority. Now may be an excellent time to begin that process.
