It hasn't passed yet and if it does it won't go into effect until 2013 thats 3 years after all who vote for it will be unemployed and a year after Obama is defeated in his run for a second term it will be repealed. Are you aware that the public option is a government-run, but not government-subsidized, choice for people who do not want or cannot get coverage from private insurers? That is all it is.
If you don't like it, you can stay with your current plan. But since it will have huge size and scope, as a national plan, it will have the power to negotiate lower prices from providers. That is why big Pharma and giant health corporations are against it. Do you really want to trust private insurance companies, and their death panels, to do the right thing?

Employers face penalties and this cuts into medicare... what a joke...
The penalties prescribed by the bill are so low that ALL employers will choose to pay the penalties over paying for health insurance for their employees
And this program will REPLACE Medicare anyway... Medicare is a geriatricly bias healthcare program, designed because no insurance company (in it's right mind) would give affordable healthcare to the elderly.
With the government taking over heathcare, the elderly would simply fall inline with all the rest of us...
They call it an "option" but there will be no option, "all people" will be required to buy something... all employers will opt for the penalty price, no insurance company will be able to compete with the government's low cost "option" so All people will be on the governments plan....
