I could find many predictions of employment numbers that fall perfectly in line with the current numbers. GDP is the measure of economic growth. In case you needed refreshment in economic theory. That’s Government spending +Business+ consumer spending+ net exports. If you are reporting please check your facts and don't head straight for the goodies of bashing the government. Average work week one year ago was 33.6 hours. Now it's 33.0.
That's another 1.8% unemployment so now we have 10.2 + 1.8 =
12%. Also, up to 2006, the ratio of reported to not reported was 3:1.
So given an 2006 unemployment of 6%, another 2% were unemployed
but not reported. In the fall of 2006, the ratio changed from 3:1 to 1:1.
It is probably qorse now. Anyway, at 1:1, the real number unemployed
is now 12% + 12% = 24%. BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS play this little game to make themselves look good.

Government says unemployment is 10 percent.............wrong if you add in people that quit looking for work, it would in reality be 12 percent. Elvis' record "Blue Christmas" will probably sell well this year.

The real unemployment rate (the U6 number which includes everybody) is 17.5%. The government only gives the U3 number to make unemployment look better than it actually is. Wisen up. It's getting worse, not better.

Since the big spending (and deficit enlarging) "stimulus" bill isn't working, why not try tax cuts for businesses? It has worked in the past so it's worth a try now. I know that liberals cannot stand the idea of allowing businesses and individuals to keep more of their money, but Obama has to try something besides more government spending and increasing the handouts.

Except for insuring some UAW jobs with billions in handouts and creating government jobs, Obama has been a total and complete failure in curbing unemployment but nothing has stopped this idiot from spending us into obvilion for years to come. Hundred of billions are being spend to support and provide aid to illegals and the thought of stopping this and deporting them to create jobs for Americans has not crossed his feeble mind. Obama has his focus on gaining absolute control of our lives and nothing, absolutely nothing, will change his goal regardless of how our citizens and nation suffers.
