Gold surges to an all-time high (CNNMoney.com)

Gold prices surged to a record high Tuesday after the International Monetary Fund said it had sold 200 metric tons of the precious metal to India's central bank. » Full Story on Yahoo! Finance

Gold is just a metal. A flower has more power. You cannot buy air. We will learn in the future that money can do little for happyness. All the gold on earth will not bring back the dead, save the living or cure your disease. You can buy things with gold, but you cannot enjoy them. It's really a state of mind. You came into this world with a mother, you will leave only to your father. Do good for our planet and leave the world in a better condition than you discovered it.

Hedge of uncertain times by buying GOLD! While gold and its value may fluctuate over time, it has kept it's value for over 5000 years. Governments and their money may come and go, but gold sets the "gold standard" in value for the long run.

6 to 7 billion dollars was a real big newsworthy story 55 years ago.
Today, so what!! At least no one came in and purchased our farm land. They got our steel mills at discount, thanks to DC executive branch. They (Italy) have Chrysler, again with DC involvement. They have large portion of agricultural equipment manufacturers, again Italy.
British Petroleum bought Sohio, Amaco, Arco which gained them remaining north slope production plus refineries and customers. I do not know their ownership position in Canadian oilsands - if any. Again, some gold - so what. India may be a good neighbor on this deal or looking to see American inflation, so they dumped some dollars.
