Chief Meets With Cops Who Issued No-English Citations

Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle met behind closed doors Monday with nearly two dozen officers who ticketed drivers for not speaking English.

The department refused to comment on the meeting, but the president of the city’s largest police union had plenty to say.

“You've got officers that have gone out, worked very, very hard (and) done a good job protecting the citizens of this city,” said… » Full Story on NBC Dallas-Fort Worth

I think the cops should be commended. This country's base language is English. Too many immigrants come in here and think they can disrespect the citizens by rambling in their language while talking about us in front of us. Speak our language or leave. Kudos to the cops who wrote the tickets. Next time take out their tongues.

As I remember this story when it first came out, a picture of at least one ticket that was issued was shown. The ticket was issued for a real traffic violation, with a notation at the bottom about "not able to speak English."
Didn't look to me the person was actually receiving a ticket for not speaking Eenglsh, that was merely a sidenote.
What's wrong with that?

Just wait for the ACLU and the useless liberals to get a hold of this. They will make the officer apologize for doing the right thing.

SERIOUSLY!!!!! These people have watermelon sized balls, can you imagine if any one of us went to another country, got a ticket and filed a complaint because we were unable to speak the language...and were taken seriously haha...well it's a mute point because no other country would allow us to slither over the border and demands rights. Our country is disappearing at such a rapid rate my head is spinning.
If the ACLU gets involved they'll demand the officers get fired and be replaced with the people complaining.......

In some states they are now passing laws that states if you do not have a drivers license like the case of this one women that could not understand much english, they will ticket you plus tow your car away. If you can't speak english or understand it does it pertain to all foreign groups? If it does thats great because I've been here in the U.S. for 69 years and still don't understand english. Eachta duma spotch, dubja. I can drive like a maniac with no fear, no insurance,no auto plates,no drivers license, avoid stop signs,U turns and children school cross walks. Man, its great to be polish and not worry about our laws! NOA SPEAKITY ENGLASH.

i can only hope commendations and were delivered. and pay increases. and extra ammo. and a license to kill those who steadfastly refuse to be
administered by the country's official language. God knows but that all four of the above are warranted.

The law is the law and enforcing the law is the RESPONSIBILITY of the police. If the law is found to be unconstitutional, change it but it must be enforced until that time.

I agree with those cops. These immigrants come here but refuse to learn English! Only the Spanish speakers do this. Other immigrants learn English. And for all they know, the suspects could have been putting on an act to get out of trouble.
